LOCATION

It’s no surprise that this widely-acclaimed beach is regarded as one of the finest not just in the Algarve, but on the entire planet! What makes it special?

Falesia Beach Central Algarve is has an extensive sandy beach similar to other Algarve beaches. However, magnificent reddish, brown, white, and orange cliffs make it special. The cliff is a magical place during sunset, and the views from the top are wonderful. There are a few parkings on which you can leave your car. If you enjoy walking I would recommend to choose one of the extremes (east or west), then walk one way on the beach and come back on top of the cliffs. 

PARKINGS

On the east end there are two parkings:

  • Praia dos Tomates
  • Rocha Baixinha

They share the same access road which is not in a very good condition but it´s acceptable. They are partially hidden in the pine tree forest, not asphalted. Both perfect for camper vans. Remember to read the article about camping in Portugal!

Parking Rocha Baixinha
On the west end there are also two option – you can drive all the way down to the beach but it is very tiny down there, or leave your car on top of the cliff.

If you leave your car on one of the parkings mentioned above, you can enjoy a spectacular hike – I definitely recommend to go one way along the beach, especially if it´s low tide and then come back on the cliffs. You can walk as far as you want, between the parking called Rocha Baixinha to the Praia do Falesia main parking it´s about 6km one way (12km round trip). You can also continue a bit further to the west to Praia do Barranco das Belharucas, it´s another maybe 2km.
